WILL OF GEORGE DAVIES (DAVIS), Grand Pass, Saline County, Missouri
To my SON CHARLES DAVIS, six hundred dollars in land and beding, which they have in their possession.
To PETEN ESTIS and his WIFE MARY , two hundred dollars in land and beding, which they have in their possession.
To RICHARD MALINE and his WIFE MARGARET MALONE, two hundred dollars, which they have in their possession.
To TIMOTHY JARBOUGH and his WIFE, NANCY , two hundred dollars, which they now have in possession
To JOHN KENTON and his WIFE JLETTE R. KENTON, two hundred dollars, which they now have in possession.
To my SON GEORGE DAVIS, the southeast quarter of section eight, township fifty-one, range twenty-two, also eighty acres of land to be taken off of section twenty-nine on the east side of my land lying in Testsaw bottom an the Missouri River township fifty-two, range twenty-two.
To LOVING WIFE ELIZABETH, all the remainder of my property not named in the foregoing part of this will for her to have to her benefit and use during her lifetime and after her death that portion of property shall be equally divided amongst my children or their heirs.

George Davis [also spelled Davies] originally from south branch of the Potomac River, Virginia.
Lived in Ross County Ohio before moving to Saline County.
Arrived in Saline County in 1818 or 1819
Owned Section 08, Township 52, Range 21.
2 ½ miles NE of town.
Fruit-bearing orchard.
Davis Lake, NW of Malta Bend, E of Laynesville named after George Davis.
John Kenton, nephew of Simon Kenton.
John Kenton married Juliet Davis about 1836 in Saline County
Will is dated 1829. Article says it is 1839. Did the author get it wrong in the article?
Elizabeth Botkin Davis died a year later – 1830 or 1840?
Maiden name of Elizabeth – Botkin.
Elizabeth is full name of Betsy, her name in the Bancroft Family letter
